Basic causes of circuit failures

Oct 14,2024

There are many reasons for circuit failure, but they can usually be summarized as follows:

1. Short circuit: When a short circuit occurs in the circuit, the current does not pass through the load or passes through the load but the current is too large, causing the fuse in the circuit to melt or trip, and even cause a fire in severe cases.

2. Open circuit: When a circuit is open, the current cannot flow, causing the circuit to fail to work properly. Open circuits may be caused by line breakage, poor contact, or load failure.

3. Leakage: Leakage refers to the leakage of current from the circuit, usually due to aging of the line, poor insulation, or load leakage. Leakage not only causes energy waste, but also poses a threat to equipment and personal safety.

4. Overload: When the load in the circuit is too large, it will cause excessive current, which will cause the fuse to melt or trip, and even cause a fire in severe cases.
